Exploring the fictions of self, curations, and narratives, Mann envisioned and created a fictional world, centered around 5 different versions of herself. Turning her life into a brand and herself into an object Mann looks at our current culture of media excess and the marketing that goes into our daily lives. Everything in this show is a meta illusion. Paintings of paintings, paintings of film stills to movies that don’t exist, trailers to movies that don’t exist, posters, dolls, and magazine covers featuring Mann as the Star. These artifacts of a fictional self look at how our society markets and sells identity, and how we buy into it and curate it into our own lives.
